PINK COCKTAILS! Yep, and its not some unnatural weird stuff to make it that pretty. It’s prickly pears. Do you know about them? You cut them open, and they are the most beautiful bright pink color. So we used them to make some cocktails, and my favorite kind: fizzy cocktails. The first time I had a cocktail with an egg white in it, I thought it was going to be a little strange but it turned out to be really light and makes a nice fizzy top to your drink. We made this cocktail to be a little flexible, you can use just plain old simple syrup, or you can pair it with one of these three fabulous Morris Kitchen flavored syrups. Here is where the giveaway comes in. Eat Boutique is a great little online store that carries small batch foods made by amazing boutique makers. The cool thing is Eat Boutique crafts these amazing seasonal and regional gift boxes, as well as many awesome individual items. They also host tasting events and markets. It’s a pretty cool situation they have going on. Eat Boutique was nice enough to give us three Morris Kitchen flavored syrups: ginger, spiced apple, and preserved lemon. You can win this three pack by leaving a comment below, and tell us what your favorite holiday drink is. We will stop counting comments on Thursday at 1 p.m. pst. So you have till then to comment and hopefully win! Good luck! Please note that the winner’s box will not ship till after Christmas, and we will only ship within the US. Make sure you put in your email in the email field when you comment so we can contact you if you win!

” Check your email! Thank you everyone!

I love Morris kitchen flavorings! We use a rhubarb and lemon for cocktails.
a pink fizzy cocktail sounds wonderful!!
my favorite holiday drink is definitely homemade hot apple cider in front of the fireplace.
Yummy! I’m actually not sure I even know what a prickly pear looks like, but I’ll keep an eye out.
You’ll find prickly pears are going to be a lighter green, golden orange, or a berry red. Hailing from the cactus family, naturally they resemble a cactus (with some smooth spines) and more round like a pear.
: )
Hot buttered rum is hands down my favorite seasonal drink. I have wanted to try a Tom and Jerry for a while now though, but I doubt it will be able to unseat such an easy to make classic as the hot buttered rum, particularly since it is connected to such good memories for me.
This is actually the second time I’ve seen a prickly pear cocktail this season. Sort of makes me feel like I’ve been living under a rock (or just totally oblivious – probably that one) for not coming across prickly pears in my wanderings through various grocery stores.
My favourite holiday drink would definitely be the extremely versatile Hot Toddy. My usual recipe mixes Bengal Spice tea, bourbon, lemon and honey.
My favorite holiday drink is spiced sangria – will be making some for the family this year!
my favorite holiday drink is eggnog but that is bad news for this time of year. oh well.
I love any drink with bubbles and pomegranate!
Various (natural) flavors of hot cocoa top my list all winter!
Oooh, prickly pear abounds around here. Yay, now they seem to have more purpose since they have drinky drink potential.
I really do love eggnog, but only homemade or Strauss will do.
I love hot toddy’s in the winter but I also like an old fashioned.
my favorite holiday drink is definitely a jack rose — apple brandy, grenadine, lemon and lime. yum!
I will never not love Egg Nog. Preferably with as much brandy or rum as possible
How fun! Champagne is always a favorite! But I love the Clapless Belle as well.
I do so love a Brandy Old Fashioned. There is something about brandy that just says winter and Christmas to me.
My favorite holiday drink is a Rosemary Gin Fizz — rosemary simple syrup, lime juice, gin, and seltzer. Fizzy and refreshing and herbal!
Cocquito is my favorite holiday drink (it’s a spanish/Puerto Rican holiday drink).
It’s blended with ice, a can of condensed milk, a can of creme of coconut (coco lopez brand is usually the only one I can find…but note it’s creme of coconut and NOT coconut milk), a can of evaporated milk, a good amount of rum (based on preference
), and then, after poured into a glass, topped off with some nutmeg shavings.
It is ridiculous fattening but it is a holiday tradition and it is so freakin’ good!
I love having Sweet and Spicy tea during the Christmas season!
I’d have to say my favorite holiday drink is hot chocolate. Not too exciting… but I do love to flavor it with mint or hazelnut or caramel! Yum!
Hot toddy, or pumpkin egg nog
My favorite holiday cocktail is making a homemade cocoa and mixing with coconut milk and a peppermint liquor. I top it with a homemade vanilla whipped cream and sprinkle coarsely crushed candy canes on top. : )
(jaime@sweetroad.. prickly pears are lighter green, golden orange, or a berry red. Hailing from the cactus family, naturally they resemble a cactus with some smooth spines but more round like a pear.)
I don’t really have a favorite holiday drink but winning these flavored syrups would probably change that! I am really intrigued by the lemon!

I’ve started drinking/making/enjoying mulled wine this year and it’s delicious!
Egg Nog. It’s my favorite “holiday” drink. (Peppermint Schnapps is not far behind)

Bourbon with gingerale. Not very fancy… I don’t often have the patience for real cocktails. The flavored syrups would help, though!
We have gin fizzes on Christmas morning, those have to be my favorite!

It feels Christmassy to me, even though it’s not a holiday drink, per se – I’m so in love with Pisco Sours. They have a little bit of spice that make your insides feel warm, and it’s nice and frothy – the froth feels like milk foam on your upper lip. Yum yum yum.
Cold winter nights (and days too, who am I kidding) a Spiked Spicy Hot Cider is perfect.
That looks amazing! Now picking just one holiday cocktail… I think it would have to be prosecco with quince and apple’s tart cherry grenadine. Sooo yummy.

My favorite holiday drink is peppermint-infused vodka with club soda.
I like a christmas ale flavored with cloves and orange–delicious!
My favorite holiday drink is homemade eggnog. My favorite any party drink is a Cosmo in any variation.
Mulled non-alcoholic wine
My favorite holiday drink is a homemade (insert well-known brand name here) Irish Creme. The recipe off the top of my head is thus:
3/4 – 1.5 cups brown alcohol (brandy, rum, bourbon, etc.
3 heaping tablespoons each instant coffee and cocoa powder
3 tablespoons hot water
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 quart half-and-half
Blend alcohol, instant coffee, cocoa powder and hot water until incorporated; add sweetened condensed milk and continue mixing; finish with half-and-half until completely incorporated. Store in beautiful bottles and affix your own labels.
Can be served over ice and is terrific in coffee. It will last several weeks – if you can keep it that long – provided it is kept cold and (very importantly) firmly hand-shaken each day. I keep mine on the icebox door to remind me to perform the daily shaking ritual. GREAT ARM EXERCISE!
Enjoy!
Ouuu, just found this site from a Pinterest board on aromatherapy. Love the cocktails-so simple-so fresh. I think I can make this!
